 .

intermittent fasting became the most talked about weight loss niche by which a lot of people use this method to lose weight.

so let's discover all there is to know about intermittent fasting

what is intermittent fasting?

intermittent fasting is a way of eating and fasting on a regular schedule.

in a sense, it's not a diet but it's a pattern of eating and fasting.

fasting is being used for a very long time by a religion of many faiths but nowadays it became more of a way to lose weight.

How does intermittent fasting works?

intermittent fasting works by increasing the time between when your body used all the calories of your last meal and starts using your stored fat.

the goal is to prolong the burning fat phase which your body uses fat as fuel after it depletes all the calories of your last. meal.

how to use intermittent fasting?

intermittent fasting is used in various ways and the goal to divide your day into eating hours and fasting hours some say you can split your week into fasting and eating but I prefer by to split it by day since it gives you a sense of commitment.

the most popular ways are:

16/8 method

it's a method of dividing your day by fasting for 16 hours and eating for only 8 hours.

for example, you eat between 1am-9am and you fast the rest of the 16 hours of the day or you can make your own schedule but you have to make it 8 hours of eating a d 16 hours of fasting.

 5:2 diet

in this method, you split your week into 2 days of eating 500-600 calories and 5. days of normal eating.

in my case, I don't like this method because it's easy to fall off your schedule.

Eat-stop-Eat

this method is fasting 1 day or two every week meaning you fast for 24 hours in every week. once or twice.

let's say you had your lunch at 2:30 am today then you will not eat until tomorrow at 2:30 am.

who should or shouldn't use intermittent fasting

whichever method you use it comes down to reducing calorie intake so it's clear intermittent fasting is not for everyone.

before using this method you should consult your physician.

people who have these problems should avoid intermittent fasting:

  • underweight
  •  Diabetes
  • low. blood pressure
  • history of eating disorder
  • amenorrhea
  • pregnant
  • breast feeding
